CALL FOR ARTISTS
DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 24, 2026
Spazio Berlendis, Cannaregio 6301, Venice
Marignana Arte and Kosmos Contemporary Venice APS are pleased to announce the second edition of the Berlendis Venice Art Prize, an international open call addressed to artists of any age and nationality.
The 2027 edition, titled Have we crossed the threshold? A journey beyond borders, identities and languages, invites artists to explore the idea of crossing as an aesthetic, political and existential practice. The theme may be interpreted through multiple perspectives: as a physical, inner, geographical, linguistic, cultural or symbolic passage; as a process of transformation; or as an exploration of the boundaries between media, identities, memories and disciplines.
A jury of professionals from the contemporary art field will select 20 finalists: 10 for the Emergent section, dedicated to artists aged 18–30, and 10 for the Contemporary section, dedicated to artists over 30. The selected artists will take part in a group exhibition at Spazio Berlendis, Venice, from February 20 to March 21, 2027.
The Prize includes two cash prizes — €1,000 for the winner of the Emergent section and €2,500 for the winner of the Contemporary section — as well as 5 special exhibition prizes, conceived to expand the dialogue between the finalists and galleries, institutions and spaces active in contemporary research.
The finalists’ exhibition will be accompanied by a dedicated publication.
Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 PM on September 24, 2026, through the dedicated application form available on the websites of Marignana Arte and/or Spazio Berlendis.
