Arthur Duff
Curated by Daniele Capra
In Venezia, from the 11th of May until the 24th of November 2019, Marignana Arte presents “Bodies without points of view”,an installation by Arthur Duff in the monumental space of Sardi’s Staircas eat the Complex of the Ospedaletto.
The project occurs with the group exhibition Reagents in the adjacent rooms of the Pharmacy, which is supported by the gallery.
In 1666, the architect Giuseppe Sardi completed the stairs of the Ospedaletto, with the intention of connecting the various floors in the building, which were organised illogically at the time. Choosing to adopt and reconsider the spiral typology, he added baroque flair in an elliptical form.
Arthur Duff developed an essential and insightful site-specific installation for this unique space, that seamlessly combines light and sculpture, drawing visitors’ attention to the verticality of the staircase.
